We have a few updates to make note of:

*April is month of the Young Child.  All month long we have been celebrating the children, In the beginning of the month, we had guests here to read our new bilingual story, Big Brown Bear through One Book/One Summit.  The children created "Alphabet Artwork" to share at the Early Childhood Mixer. We encouraged students and families to join us in Rainbow Tuesday by wearing all of the colors to recognize that much like colors all children are beautiful and unique. Next week, on Wednesday April 27th, our staff will be attending the Early Childhood Appreciation Mixer where they will be recognized by colleagues and the Summit County Commissioners for all of their dedication to Early Childhood Education.  The event begins at 6:00pm, 4/27, so we are asking that all pickups be completed by 5:30pm so that staff have time for safe travel to the event.

*We are closed on Thursday May 5th for an Inservice day. Our Infant/Toddler team will be observing at 2 Reggio inspired schools in Denver, followed by a trip to RAFT to learn more about non-conventional materials and purchase some for their classrooms.  Our Toddler and Preschool teams will be partnering with the School District for a presentation by the Boulder Journey School: Cultivating the Young Scientist.  BJS is one of our mentor schools and we are always excited for an opportunity to collaborate with them.

*May is Teacher Appreciation month.  We would love to have some help from parents as we celebrate our amazing team.  Keep an eye out for an online sign up link, it will be sent to your email address.

*Family Socials.  We have had numerous requests from families for social opportunities to meet and relax with other families.  Do we have a party planner in our midst who would like to help us begin setting these up and earn some serious volunteer credits?  Please let us know.

*We are hoping that this beautiful weather holds and everyone can get outside to celebrate the warmth and celebrate Mother earth like we have been all day long in honor of Earth Day*

About Timberline:

We are a school for young children from ages 6 weeks to 6 years. Our approach is Reggio Emilia inspired. The following principles guide our approach and curriculum: The child is an active, strong, competent collaborator in the evolution of their learning. The teacher is a guide, rather than an instructor, who observes, questions, researches, documents, reflects, and interprets. The classroom is a teacher unto itself! The relationships that develop between the children, their families, and the teachers create opportunity for growth, reflection, and support. Long-term projects are at the core of our program, using the children’s interests, and the teacher’s observations, as the guide.
